Review: If you're looking for a case simply for it's looks, you've found it. If you want protection or you tend to be clumsy with your phone, this is NOT the case for you. One drop and it was history (see picture). Fortunately, Case-mate ordered me a new case without any hassle so i'm very pleased with my customer service experience.

Review: The case looked awesome, but I've owned it for only a week and it's cracked on both sides on the bottom. Yes, I've dropped my phone, but for $40 it shouldn't crack in the first week. That is why I'm giving this a one-star review.

Review: The Case-Mate Barely There Brushed Aluminum Case looks awesome and adds virtually no mass to the iPhone 4. The downside to the case is in its retainer construction. The back has an aluminum inlay (read: STICKER) but the construction is of a somewhat brittle plastic. Over the course of 2 and-a-half months the corners of the case have begun to break-away. I have only removed my phone from the case a total of 4 times (to thoroughly clean it). I'd hate to believe that this was the source of great fatigue...
Generally, I do a little more in-depth research on products. But, given Case-Mate's overall great reputation I made some assumptions and unfortunately [because of that] have not enjoyed the longevity or material and build-quality I expected.
The product name lead me to believe that I was looking at a Brushed-Aluminum case (not just an "inlay").
The case looks great but isn't at-all what I expected from Case-Mate.

Review: You can rate this case if what you looking for is a outstanding protection for your iphone 4.,
This is a kind of case that offers style and basic protection, without make your iphone looks like a brick.
It's so far my favorite case so far.
For the same style(slim), no one could be more close to perfection in a slim case, in my opinion than case-mate barely there.
The finishing of barely there is better, and the ability to let you have a back screen protector on the back of your iphone is priceless.
It's also offers a bit of lay on the table protection, another plus.
The only cons is to get your "baby" off the case, what can cause some tip broken nail. lol

Review: I only had this phone case for 2 weeks and the back aluminum is scratched up and has tiny nicks on them. I'm not rough on my iphone. I expected this expensive phone case to look new for at least 6 months. It looks like I had this case for years. I would not recommend this case to anyone unless the price is cut by half. I just hate to spend $40 on a case that looks bad in 2 weeks. For that price, they need to look into adding a protective coating on the back of the aluminum to preserve the beauty of it. I'm so diappointed with this purchase.

Review: While this is designed to be a thin (barely there) cover, it is almost like plastic. I dropped mine and hit the corner of the phone and it cracked the case. I would have expected Aluminum to bend or scratch not crack and break.
While i really liked the cover, I won't buy another as it is less robust than one would expect.

Review: I'm on my third iPhone, the original, the 3GS and now the 4s, all of my iPhones have been protected by the barely there cases, the Brushed Aluminum case is truly amazing looking and has superior protection for the iPhone. I just recently traded in my IPhone 3GS to Apple (it has been protected by a barely there case and scree protector) and they paid my $150.00 dollars for because of the great condition it was in. These are truly the best cases.

Review: I originally purchased the white/silver iSkin Aura case for my white iPhone 4S; which also has an aluminum back. BUT... the white side walls are an ivory white color and don't matchup with the white on my iPhone. The material also got stained within days of having it. Another problem is that the camera hole interfered with the flash. iSkin's customer support wasn't all that helpful with any of these problems, so Im returning the case for a refund. I then purchased the Barely There Aluminum Case.
The Case-Mate case on the other hand is great. No problem with the flash since the camera hole is big enough to not interfere with it. The aluminum back is nicer than the iSkin case, and the fit is nice & snug. I've read others complain that it's really hard to remove the case but I didn't have any problem with that. The case also looks really nice and high-end. Much happier with this case over the iSkin one.
