Review: The case is lightweight and not so cumbersome as other cases I've tried. I first tried the Otter case, however, it would lock up my Torch. The email response I received back from the Otter case company was "you are putting the case on incorrectly". I already tried a different one and the salesperson had put the 2nd one on for me - same problem. This case-mate case is lighter and it at least doesn't lock up my bb. I wish they had more colors.

Review: I thought, at first, I was losing my mind... but whenever I put my Casemate case on my Blackberry Torch, my phone will freeze, needing a battery pull. I have tried this numerous time and have even taken it back to the store many times. I have no idea why this happens. Unfortunately, I couldn't take it back to the store as the third day I had my case, my phone accidentally dropped to my desk (freaky fall...short distance..) and the front skinny piece snapped in the lower corner. I was really disappointed. I had a Case Mate case for my curve and it held my credit cards! I LOVED that case...and almost would have not boughten the torch had I known I couldn't get a card holder case for it from Case Mate... but my main problem now is I can't use it because for some strange reason, my phone will freeze with the case on!

Review: After reading the reviews of this product I was hesitant to give it a try. I, too, have purchased other Case-Mate cases for my other BlackBerry phones and loved them all. When I saw this one at my AT&T store on sale (1/2) price, I decided it was worth the risk. The front piece popped off once right after I got it (because I didn't have it on correctly). Since then I've had no problems. So...I still recommend Case-Mate to all my friend.

Purchased From: VivoCity - Singapore
Review: I like the Case Mate for its sleek design, the plastic casing seems pretty durable though I have no intentions of dropping it to test the theory.
The front cover clips on easily and contrary to the other reviewers who hate the front case, I actually prefer it to the back casing. Maybe there were minor adjustments made to my batch of casings. The front now has clip thingys on the side that go under the slider, together with the one that holds on at the bottom. It's easy to attach yet easy to remove and still does not fall off.
The back case however is such a simple design you'd think it'd be easy to remove as well. But never in my years of mobile phone use have I had so much grief and difficulty in removing the case.
The clip at the back is so simple but it grips onto the top speaker hole so firmly that I've tried removing the case with my finger nails and whenever I see the metal piece detach from the phone securely fastened to the Casemate clip, I disheartenedly give up removing the case together. I would rather leave it on than risk breaking my BB torch. Right now it just feels like a cancer that is too dangerous to remove.
However, that isnt to say the case isn't detachable. You'd just probably have to have a knife/stapler (use the curved end which removes staples)and carefully slide it under the case and jiggle it to remove. This is too more effort to remove such a simple looking case and a hassle for battery pulls especially if you are out and do not have the tools with you.
I will use this case until I find a better one. I hope its soon. It's pretty to look at, but too inconvenient at times that I can't be bothered liking it.

Review: I have always used a case-mate for my phones (Storm, Bold 9700). The case-mate for the Torch was the one I purchased without a hesitation due to my experience with the previous models and how excellent they were.
I must say, I am disappointed with this case. Mostly with the front piece of the case, as it keeps popping off with very little effort at all. I put my phone down in my car last week and the front piece came flying off.
I am regretful to say that I must find an alternative to the case-mate for my torch. Shame, since they have made great cases for the Storm and Bold as mentioned before

There is a definite design flaw for the front casing. |

Purchased From: AT&T store
Review: I bought this at my local AT&T store along with my new phone, and the salesman was nice enough to assemble everything for me before leaving. Brand new phone... brand new case... Don't tell me that my case was stretched out because someone else had tried it before; it was brand new and put on by someone who knew what they were doing. It was 2 days before the front casing popped off. It had never been dropped, abused, or even removed from the phone. It popped off in my hand as I gently slid the top to open the keypad. Because it IS plastic and flimsy, the problems only get worse with time.
Seriously...buy a different product. 90% of the people reviewing this product are having the exact same problem as I have had. There's an obvious design flaw, and your Torch deserves better.

Review: Was a business trip and saw this at a mobile phone store in Bangkok.
Well, these days you use software to do a battery pull, so having a case that stays on properly is plenty good. Honestly case design for slider phones are tough and I don't think any manufacturer could do a perfect design.
One thing though, the glossy metallic finish looks great.
For what its worth, well done guys!

Review: I had purchased one of Case-mate's Barely There cases previously for my Blackberry Curve and it was great. I was disappointed in this when the first time I put the phone it my purse the front came off. The back stays on like it's part of the phone. I have since purchased a different product and the front portion stays on perfectly so if Case-mate could re-design the top this would be a great case.

scratched within 5 minutes, top piece pops off easily, hard to remove the back piece |
|
Purchased From: case-mate.com
Review: I had this case for my 9700 and loved it, so I was eager to try it for my Torch.
I'm a little disappointed that laying the phone with the case on it onto a flat surface caused such a vicious scratch-within ten minutes of taking it out of the packaging.
Also disappointed that tossing my phone onto my bed caused the top piece to come off, while the back piece nearly requires an act of G*d to get it off.
It doesn't seem as durable as the version for the 9700, and while it is quite beautiful to look at, I get the feeling that one drop will break the top piece, and repeated use will cause it to chip the metal piece where it clips onto the phone.
If you're a gentle user, it should be fine, but if not, steer clear.
